discuss the lesser talked about causes of morning sickness which are unrelated to pregnancy.
Usually, nausea is one of the first symptoms of an upset digestive system. If you are suffering from acid
reflux/ gastroesophageal reflux disorder, the stomach contents tend to go up into esophagus and cause
the puky feeling after a heavy meal at night. Drinking frequent sips of water and taking antacids can
help treating the nausea in this condition. Avoiding spicy foods and caffeine is another major lifestyle
modification that takes care in the long run.
Our sleep cycle is closely linked to our digestive system. So one can also feel nauseated due to troubled
or irregular sleep. Low blood sugar is another common cause which can easily be treated by having a
light meal. Nervousness , anxiety and emotional stress can be the culprits, especially in elderly. High
